The latest tasty adventure downtown

Realtor/Tax prepare/restaurateur/downtown advocate…..the many hats of the Anaya family keep them from going dawn to the late of night.
Stepping up to keep everything going is a hallmark of the Anaya’s. Little did they realize along the way their focus and determination would change from necessity to an actual heartfelt dream for downtown.

The Anaya’s purchased Joe’s Steakhouse, which was once Sambo’s, back in the day. But the little steakhouse was challenged to keep a tenant having gone through several. What to do? So the Anaya family stepped in and began operating Joe’s itself. The plan was to have their nephew handle the day-to-day front house and Joe & Maribel would take care of the office and back prep work. However, good intentions don’t always come true. Sadly their nephew was on his way to meet the upholster a few days before the grand re opening and tragically died in a crash. The Anaya’s found themselves having to make a choice; sell or step in on their own.

Joe, Maribel and their teen kids chose to keep on in the memory of their nephew so they have been running Joes’ ever since. Somewhere during the passing five years, their vision was changed too. “Now we have a heart for the business itself” shares Maribel. “The people keep us motivated. The restaurant business is like home; you dote on people” and come to love them as your own. Maribel went on to say “when we started we just hoped the doors would be swinging open” with people. Now they know it’s about the people. “They can feel it in how the food is prepared”. Joe’s Steakhouse specializes in certified angus beef in all their meals and you can truly taste the difference. When you’re in the mood for good times, pleasant dining, and great cuisine, Joe’s Steakhouse can’t be beat, offering a pleasant, inviting atmosphere that is perfect for casual dining with families and friends. The menu features an extensive array of selections, with something sure to please everyone and Joe’s is a featured food stop on the Downtown Art & Architecture adventure the first weekend of the month.
